This week in The Teeth of the Tiger things have really started to heat up. My favorite conflict this week was definantly between the terrorists and the brothers. How it was set up it really makes you wonder if the government did not know there actually was going to be a terrorist attack at the mall and purposely sent the brothers there to defuse the situation. It may have been some sort of training exercise. Another interesting factor in this weeks reading was that the brothers seem to bond more together than at the beginning of the book. I suppose it was necessary for the type of work they were getting into. The terrorists though have now become my favorite characters. They being able to infiltrate our country after 9/11 and still reign terror makes me convulsive. The terrorists also have some interesting conflicts within their group, they make it seem as if they are unknown about each other. It makes you wonder if they had trust with others.

This is definantly another issue that has been ticking me off for some time. The parking lot, many parents seem to drive through there as if they are riding bicycles through the park. They do not give any attention to other motorists, where they may park, or even CHILDREN! It is dangerous to even wake through there in broad daylight. Yet, many, many kids do, which I do not see as wrong but evidently Mr. Eisle does. I wish that he could seriously be a student trying to get to school and walk through the parking lot. Honestly, if he tells the drivers to be more careful and the students to use the sidewalk nothing will happen. In my omnipotent opinion it will take an injury, or something worse before the problem is solved.

Per our discussion about teachers contracts last week. Here is my new article ready to be submitted to my personal blog, maybe after more editing to the Press and Argus, wait that liberal piece of junk. Nah, probably the weekly newspaper the Ann Arbor News runs. Anyways check this article out. Note: Please excuse the generality and lack of exactness. This was posted on a public blog so it was made general.

The local teacher union has been on a sort of “soft strike”. They have been going to school board meetings and wearing buttons that say, “Brighton Teachers care” and “Working without a contract”. The whole issue I suppose stems around arrogance over money. Teachers of course are wanting more and the administration is getting less or the same amount as has been the case for our school district. So, it ends up stemming from the fact that the State of Michigan is getting less money from the Federal Government. This is the case in other states as well but is particularly bad in Michigan because of our state economy. Michigan schools are not getting better and the answer is to take cuts. Proposal A is not helping and yet I did not have a say in that people. These teachers probably supported it look what they messed up. This is not about assigning blame however it is about getting something done. The average salary of a teacher in the school district, in which I attend, is 60,760 dollars. The salary of our INTERIM superintendent is 550 dollars a day! We need to control our pocket books here. I have a suggestion for the administration why do you not put a lid on some of these programs. I am sorry but you are going through a tough time and without some money there are going to be cuts and the state is going to take over the job of education. Get it done and lower teacher

This week I started to read a new book. It is called Teeth of the Tiger by Tom Clancy. It is a very intriguing subject matter. I find that the two brothers, one being a marine and the other being in the FBI know a lot about terrorism. The government finds this information out and recruits one of the brothers for a Special Forces job. The government secretly wants to know whether the other brother may make a viable candidate for the program also.

I really enjoy the parts of the book when there is so much tension. This includes the part of the book when Dominic Caruso is on a case about a child being abducted. He ends up shooting the kidnapper three times and killing the kidnapper. Sadly, the girl was already dead. Special Agent Caruso is very “play it by the book” type of person. He does not like being messed with and will do what he is told only. I like his attitude and look forward to seeing it in more of the book.

I really have to write about this subject, not that it is very interesting or fun to write about but the people in it are really being arbitrary. The teachers contract issue is really getting stupid. I see teachers wearing those buttons and I say, “What can I do”. Really, I can do nothing because of the bull-mess known as the board of education and the funding that the school district receives. Also, it does not help that our superintendent just left the school district in the middle of a budget crisis and we have yet to get back on our feet. This is sickening. What the teachers really need is a multi-year contract so that they and the rest of the people do not get tucked into a situation like this again. I hope the teachers learn that parents and students can do nothing except pay their taxes. It is time for us to take out the trash with the Board of Education and the State of Michigan.
