Woman denied teaching certificate.

  • April 29, 2007 12:09 pm

After the school found a rather unflattering picture of her on Myspace. Millersville University instead granted Stacy Snyder a degree in English last year after learning of her Web-published picture, which bore the caption “Drunken Pirate.” Snyder is suing the university in hope’s of getting the degree in teaching. Snyder was accused of promoting underage drinking.

Come on Millersville University, give her a break. First off, you are invading her privacy by looking on Myspace, second off so she put up a stupid picture that is her problem, third off, it is none of your business! Gosh these offbeat stories. They get me so agitated some times.

Deer visit retirement community

  • April 28, 2007 3:37 pm

A pair of deer took a journey through a retirement center in New Oxford, PA this past Wednesday. Staff say the 2 animals enter through the automatic front door and wander the lobby before heading into an open elevator, but exiting the elevator before the doors closed. The deer then split up with one leaving on the loading dock through another automatic door and the other jumped out a window. The whole journey evidently took less than a minute.

Bambi must have wanted to see his human grandmother. This is just more bizzare than my last story. We should have a contest to name the deer, I am thinking Derek but you can comment with your own names below.

Condom Scare

  • April 28, 2007 3:30 pm

A box of condom’s forced an evacuation of a Des Moines area college in Iowa Thursday officials there reported. The officials called postal inspectors and police after a suspicious looking package arrived at the college. It later turned out to be a box of 500 condoms, sent from a previous speaker at a human sexuality class on campus.

Wow, these bizzare condom stories just keep getting more and more plentiful. And no, I do not specifically look for stories about them. Just imagine how ticked off these students are.

McDonald’s is currently investigating the incident. The Grandpa was glad his wife first looked inside to make sure everything was alright before the girl started to eat.

Come on people, we really do not need to be giving little Suzie STD’s by putting condom’s into the fast food. Bizzare people, hopefully they find the answer, will keep you posted on developments.

218 Trillion Dollar Phone Bill!

  • April 27, 2007 9:12 pm

Malaysia is a hot spot for us this week, a review and a story, what are the odds!

A Malaysian man got a 218 trillion dollar phone bill and was ordered to pay it in 10 days or face prosecution the New Strait Times reported. The Telekom company, affiliated with Malaysian government officials had no official comment but a source working with the Tele-co says that they will “look into it”.

I do not know how you even get a $218 trillion phone bill. A couple million I could understand due to calling the U.S. like 3000 times but come on $218 trillion, this must be a billing error.

95 year old woman graduates college

  • April 27, 2007 4:20 pm

Well, this sure does qualify as bizzare and offbeat.

Nola Ochs, 95, is currently studying at Fort Hays State University and is scheduled to graduate May 12th. Ochs will graduate with a general studies degree with an emphasis on history. Ochs first decided to start taking college classes after her husband died in 1972. She would take a class here and there and finally moved closed to the college so she could finish up her degree. She is going to hold the Guinness Book of World Records title for the oldest person graduating from college, eclipsing a 90 year old who held the record for graduating with a degree in journalism.

Way to go Nola! Congrats on your degree.

Bid4Prizes

  • April 27, 2007 2:21 pm

Have you ever wanted something really expensive? Maybe a laptop, gaming system, or even a car? Well bid4prizes will allow you to bid for your favorite prizes. This concept is very similar to eBay but instead you can bid by text or SMS messaging a certain number to bid for the prize. However, they still allow bidding only as well. It is extremely different in the fact that the LOWEST unique bidder wins the prize, not the highest. Bid4Prizes looks like a very interesting concept, however I wonder how you can auction off an Apple Iphone when it has not been publicly released. Just seems a little bit strange to me. Anyways, feel free to check out Bid4Prizes for great prizes!

Daughter becomes a Liar

  • April 25, 2007 5:58 pm

I don’t know whether this is true or not. But it’s a pretty damn good story if you ask me. A daughter became a liar and a thief because her father needs medication costing…oh say…$47,000! I won’t go into all the details but this is a pretty daring thing for a daughter to do and I applaud while scolding. Which makes me ask, WHY DO WE CHARGE $47,000 for drugs?

Forex and Global Futures

Have you ever wondered if you can make money really quickly? global futures and forex can increase your investments quickly. Global Futures Exchange & Trading Co., Inc. can get you into the forex and global futures market for as little as $250. That is half as small as a CD at a bank that, once you do the calculations, does not return that much at all. Forex seems to be the hot spot these days, I may have to look into investing in it. However, at this point I do not own any forex, I do own several global futures in corn and I used to own futures in oil. Futures are a very interesting investment and can make your portfolio behave unique. Always remember to use caution when investing!

Blogging Secret

  • April 25, 2007 3:26 pm

Just stopped by this blog that helps you make money onlineBlogging secret has some very valuable tips from a “full time Malyasian blogger” His current top post is something I wish that the U.S.  had too, free tickets to Pirates of the Caribbean 3!  Just imagine, free tickets to one of the biggest movie’s of all time. And only for Malaysia, :( .   Louise also talks about how he has to deal with the sponsored review companies that provide the blogosphere with most of the blogging topics.

Personally, I am amazed that a blog spot blog has made it so far up the Technorati charts. Louise is above 10,000 and climbing. It really proves to you that you do not need your own domain to make the best blog, at least it proves it to me.  Sadly, I really disagree with the Google ads, I wouldn’t mind them if they were so intrusive but they are not evenly lined up making for a heck of a hard layout.  Also the sidebar is EXTREMELY overstuffed with information. Par it down and it will look much better Louise, trust me dude.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to check out your blog Louise.

Student Graduates College After ONE YEAR!

  • April 25, 2007 3:00 pm

A story form my neck of the woods,

Nicole Matisse, of Bloomfield Hills, is to officially graduate in the summer with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. Nicole, age 19, exhausted the curriculum of her high school in her junior year and earned enough credits to enter U of M as a junior.

It’s unclear whether any other students have done what Matisse will accomplish this year, but Donna Wessel Walker, assistant director of the honors program, said she’s never seen it happen.

Just amazing! This girl is planning her next piece of her bizzare voyage as she enters law school in the fall. I’d love to have her as an employee!

Mortgage Blog Review

  • April 24, 2007 2:57 pm

I really enjoy review blogs, especially one’s in a topic I have little knowledge in. Today, I will be reviewing a blog about home loans. First off, I extremely dislike the blogger style. Blogger is for grandmother’s, come on. However, the theme does flow with the content so plus points there. Also, posts are a great length, but could appear more often so that readers come back. I suggest at least 3 posts a week, if not more. Sidebar is easy to understand and clean cut. I also like the add to RSS reader function, very useful. Overall, more content and a new blogging system could be used but posts are good and the sidebar is functional. Nice job, keep up the good work and fix the bad.

Shawn-Knight.net

  • April 21, 2007 11:48 pm

I came across Shawn Knight’s site using Google Blog search actually. I looked up free link backs and his was one of the first few results I saw.  Shawn writes about some tech stories, blog contests and other topics but what really got me interested in his site was his Daily Ownage where he picks out a picture of people getting pawned by other people.  So far I have found them awesome.  Shawn also has a daily picture, the latest one is about a sign that says a fire alarm sounds like, “whoop whoop”. HAHA!

Shawn also has a great layout for his site.  The background is mellow with it being readable, unlike if it were pale black.  The sidebar is well organized and easy to use.  Also, there is the top commentors, something I love to see. One thing he has that I really do not like is the whole MyBlogLog community.  I really despise that and think it rips apart blog communities and does not join them.  It is also tremendously overused.  Overall, nice site Shawn. Wish you good luck in the future and thanks for giving us some great stuff.

Bad Libarary Book

  • April 21, 2007 11:18 pm

A man from the home of Walmart wants the Bentonville, Ark. library director fired and a $20,000 payment after his teenage sons found a book about lesbian love making in the local library.  The man however lost the lawsuit but is still trying hard to get his point across. The Library advisory board removed the book after it deemed that the book could be replaced with one that could provide the information in a less graphic approach.

Online Memorials

  • April 20, 2007 11:59 pm

Seattle, WA. – The passing of a loved one is difficult but can bring many an opportunity to find meaning and strength. Registry of Life.com – a new Web site developed by clinical psychologist Dr. Wayne Dees – provides an interactive way to share memories, stories, and photos of loved ones long after they are gone.Registry of Life.com is an online memorial honoring and celebrating the lives of loved ones who have passed away. Providing a link from the past to the present, the Registry provides a legacy in words, pictures and even music accessible by family, friends and future generations.

www.registryoflife.com allows members to create a personal URL for their loved ones and is an easy and beautiful way to continue the legacy of those closest to their hearts. The one-time fee opens the door to a lifetime dedication and allows families and friends to upload memories, share stories, and find strength together, forever.

“As a result of counseling many grieving individuals and understanding how difficult it is for many to tolerate the painful emotions of mourning – it’s wonderful to have a place where families can honor their loved ones, share their memories, and continue their legacy,” explains Dr. Wayne Dees, creator of Registry of Life.com.

Registry of Life.com also features articles on bereavement and loss as well as recommended reading to help individuals cope with the normal but often difficult emotions that arise when dealing with loss: shock, denial, anger, guilt, sadness, and depression, while also helping the griever to move on through awareness, acceptance, and hope.

Registry of Life.com includes suggested readings that can help individuals find a productive means of coping, and more importantly, help their loved ones live on forever through their memories and images. Using the Registry can also be a great tool to help educate future generations about their family’s history.

“The Registry can help individuals in coping with the grieving process and to tell the life stories of their loved ones in words, pictures and music,” adds Dees. “We want people to have the opportunity and ability to commemorate the accomplishments and memories that celebrate life rather than focusing on loss.”

Woman Forces Children to Eat Vomit

  • April 20, 2007 10:44 pm

A woman forced her own children to eat their vomit. This woman was sentenced to 14 years in prison on multiple charges including 19 years of child abuse.

She was found guilty of a range of charges from unlawful wounding, cruelty to a person under 16, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, perverting the course of justice and witness intimidation.

This is just sad. The British foster care system is however promising a reform, but who knows if and when that may ever happen. For now at least the children have some closure, they should be adults by the time she gets out and they can get away from this sadistic woman.

Pay Per Post Acquistion

  • April 20, 2007 10:02 pm

Pay Per Post, a major advertising agency has acquired another company. They are not hinting to who it is yet but I believe that it may be Blogsvertise.com. They are the runner up to pay per post and have been having some great success as well recently. They both have bloggers create posts that drive traffic to their advertisers site and I have used both before. Let me tell you however, Pay Per Post has a much bigger community, although I think they acquired Blogsvertise so they could offer more ads to more blogger’s.

Heck, us “posties”(yes that’s what PPP members are called) may get a great appreciation in our real value. We may even get paid as well as ReviewMe articles do. Us posties may also see a great new influx of topics to write about, recently there has been so many finance related opportunities such as student loans, bank accounts, e.t.c., e.t.c. I want to branch out and talk about something more interesting like celebrities and upcoming movie releases. Maybe we even will see Pay Per Post acquire ReviewMe themselves, now that would be truly spectacular. That would bring the internet 360 and make Pay Per Post a force to be reckoned with! What do you think about Pay Per Post?

Brian Heys Writes is a very unique blog. First off, his blog is mostly about garnering traffic, a very good subject to blog about as pretty much everyone wants to get their traffic up. Also, he has a very cool banner that blends in with the rest of the theme for his site. His posts are great and have the perfect length for both browsing and RSS reading, short, sweet and to the point. Brian Heys Writes also talks about how he has bought traffic from such sites as PPP and StumbleUpon. These sites have allowed him to push his blog traffic up even further. Brian’s sidebar is very uncluttered the sort of thing I like to see when browsing, very attractive.

Alaska to Russia Link

  • April 18, 2007 3:19 pm

According to the Russian government and Bloomberg.com, Alaska and Russia will be linked by a transportation project including a 64 mile long tunnel in 10 to 15 years.  The transit link is said to include great potential benefit for trade between the two countries and beyond.  Everyone is very interested but I think this sounds like the imaginary link between New York and London.  It will never gain enough steam or get enough investors to reach building stage. While this may sound ludicrous smart, it is also ambitious, possibly too ambitious. This is a wait and see project.

Search Engine Demographics

  • April 18, 2007 2:15 pm

Men are from Google, Women are from Yahoo.  According to a digital point forums discussion men are much more likely to go onto the internet several times a day. They are labeled intense users, while women tend to be more wimpy towards their internet usage and don’t really care.  Now, Yahoo, why not be like America Airlines who came out with a “Women Search” and also purported to be releasing a bizzare “African American” search.  Good luck for search engine demographics in the future. Men will always be more geeky. Geek on!
