Affiliate Marketing confrence in Las Vegas

  • January 27, 2008 11:36 pm

I have been making money for a week or so now with affiliate marketing, so should I go out to the affiliate marketing conference and book myself into one of the Vegas hotels like the big wigs? Nah, but next year will be a different story I have a feeling. My goal is to make enough by June to buy myself a Pontiac. It has to be a Pontiac I want, do you think I can do it through affiliate marketing?

IZEA has some new diggs

  • January 27, 2008 11:33 pm

I was just over at IZEA’s blog and was reading about how they have been moving around recently. They had a complete corporate relocation. They moved everyone from one part of a building to another. This place is monstrous. I’m not kidding either. If you want to watch the video I’d encourage you to hop on over there, I don’t know what post it is in exactly but its halirious.

Have you seen that banner?

  • January 27, 2008 11:30 pm

When I was doing some of these posts in my last marathon, I saw the banner that said, no girlfriend CLICK HERE! That reminds me of the song by this band KYO I listen to called chemises. They are so romantic and make you feel like you are in the song. I don’t know maybe I am just being completely random, but it is a great connection.

My dabbling with affiliate marketing

  • January 27, 2008 11:27 pm

Alright, if there is one thing I have learned with affiliate marketing is that if you can make a sale, there is money to be had. That is especially true of things like diet pills. They are a HUGE niche right now and if you can find the right traffic for them, you can make so much money that you are going to go crazy. Plus, most of the advertisers are extremely helpful and find some of the traffic for you. Just make sure you know how to market and diet pills can give you tons. :)

Exercising sucks

  • January 27, 2008 11:24 pm

So I went with one of my friends on a guest pass to the local gym we have here. I have to saw, it is a much nicer facility than a chain. It has several pools, lots of machines, a track, massages, its basiclly like a YMCA with a bigger price tag. Anyways, I still don’t like ellipticals much, they hurt my legs. I have found that I like other work out machines, though, knowing what to call them is difficult. Anything that tones my six pack is awesome. ;)

Master bathroom remodel update

  • January 27, 2008 11:20 pm

Well the master bathroom remodel is nearing completion. The heated floor, floor, shower, shower box, tile, slate, toilet and cabinets have all been installed. We are debating on whether to get a plasma lift for a T.V. or just mount it in the corner. However, the granite and closet people just have to come and we are going to hook up all the plumbing and have a great bathroom. I need to get that darn camera out and take some pictures.

Trip to France is approaching

  • January 27, 2008 11:17 pm

I got the schedule of meetings for my trip to France recently. Also, in a little over two weeks I have about $2,000 due of the balance, as in the whole rest of the balance on the invoice. We also have to decide if I want to get travel health insurance or electronics insurance. I think both are a thing that would be smart to get. They will pay to fly me home if I am sick for more than 12 hours! How cool is that, not that I would want to be sick on an airplane for eight hours but still pretty nice. I hope that everything goes well and I make some great decisions, will keep you guys updated.

Cars Dying

  • January 26, 2008 2:58 am

My car is starting to die again. This happens about once a year when the starter gets really buggy and decides that it doesn’t want to turn on. I think it must be because of the cold wind from the being outside and uncovered. So I need to go buy the darn thing a car cover. Great, another trip to the store to buy something I wouldn’t need if I cleaned out my garage. Choices, choices, choices. Too bad I didn’t clean that garage out…lol.

Need more exercise

  • January 26, 2008 2:22 am

So I went into the doctor the other day for my yearly physical. Not all good news. I am in the 85th percentile for my weight so my doctor suggested I get some exercise equipment. Or just go outside and exercise period. Is that any suprise for you guys, how much exercise does an internet marketer get sitting in front of the computer all day, sheesh already! Anyways, I better get exercising otherwise I will be in the 100th percentile and that would suck!

Game O Luv free gifts for your Valentine

  • January 24, 2008 3:24 pm

Overstock.com, the online retailing giant that I have come to know and quite bizarely love, is offer a unique way to get a free gift for your sweetheart on Valentines Day. Game O Love, a clever promotion by Overstock will launch tomorrow. Game O Luv works by using force to win. That’s right, you have to enlist minions(or if you lack evil minions friends help too!) to help you win. I can’t really find all that much on it right now, and the game seems a little shrouded by secrecy until it launches in a little over eight hours.

Overstock.com’s “Game O Love” will be an interesting idea to watch play out. I am not sure exactly how to win, but dang do I ever want to. I am going to pick the most expensive piece of jewelry I can find on there and make sure I win. I have an unending contact list, and Digital Point if that ever runs out. Will you help me beat the competition, I am ready to enter, come on Overstock open this thing up so I can win already, you know I can, no! YOU KNOW I WILL! ARE YOU READY TO WIN?

Heath Ledger Dead

  • January 22, 2008 5:11 pm

Heath Ledger, a famous Australian actor has been found dead in his SoHo apartment.  Heath was best known for his role in Brokeback Mountain. His death was discovered earlier this afternoon and this statement was found from the New York Police Department “At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A of 421 Broome Street in SoHo[21] for an appointment with Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near his body.”

Heath Ledger was 28.

Just a note…

  • January 21, 2008 11:21 pm

I know that people sell crazy things on eBay all the time, I was wondering if it would be alright to sell maternity clothes. It seems weird to sell them on eBay, at least to me. I feel to like out in the open and exposed, that is why I never sell anything and just buy. You would be amazed at some of the stuff though, some guy tried to sell his date to the prom on eBay, now thats just stupid. Then there is breast milk, advertising space on your forehead, and body parts. Wonderful!

Progess is being made!

  • January 21, 2008 11:17 pm

That’s right folks! They are making progress on the great master bathroom remodel of 2008. It has been ongoing for three weeks now and the grout was laid today for the entire bathroom. The hope is to finish it by the end of the month. I would take a picture, but its kind of a mess because of all the equipment and earlier when I had my camera they were wiring for Cat5e. I wish the whole house, including my bedroom had it, but sadly the 1970′s did not know the modern marvel that is the internet. Oh well, always a new house!

MLK DAY

  • January 21, 2008 4:14 pm

I wrote an inspirational post about MLK over at one of my other blogs. However, I also read something that said people are not taking him seriously anymore. All he is is a big joke to some. This day is meaningless. How DARE THEY! Well, I don’t know if that is happening but this seems to keep changing, and not necessarily for the better.

Damn internet outages

  • January 21, 2008 4:11 pm

It is really starting to get old. I live in an area that is rather stable, no bombings, and in a country where we should have good internet access, however Comcast is pathetic. I have gotten disconnected multiple times from my network and others using Comcast within my subdivision. I have a NETGEAR router, sure not as good as the used cisco one I want, but it should do what I want. Comcast, I hate you for messing with my internet.

Sexy Custom Post Cards

  • January 19, 2008 9:10 pm

Recently, I have been getting into the whole affiliate thing. One of the first programs I joined was Vista Print. Vista Print let me show products that I already knew were great and were worth buying, unlike many of the other programs. Anyways, Vista Print has released custom postcards. These post cards can be customized with any image you want. For myself, I would get a picture of Waldo and I printed on them. The post cards are very high quality, as with any Vista print product. And of course, they are super sexy.

One thing about Vista Print, and with their postcards especially, you have to be careful about waiting until the last minute. Things tend to get very expensive in graphic design when you need less than a two week turn around time, this is true of Vista Print as well. This includes their processing time and shipping time. Also, make sure you have a black and white back on your post cards as they do get more expensive when you do two sides in color.  Anyways, make sure you get your Vista Print postcards.  They are of the highest quality and have a low price  promise.  They are even available for any sized order, from 100 to 20,000! Check out Vista Print today.

I’m feeling better

  • January 19, 2008 9:06 pm

Thank goodness!  Puking is never fun.  I have felt much better physically today, but my eating hasn’t really been up to par.  I think it is still wearing off.  Well, I have been studying for exams and they suck!  Geometry and Honors English on Tuesday…ohh but Monday I have to got to the Doctor, Joy!  Wish me luck…

Valentines Day Gift Ideas

  • January 18, 2008 5:22 pm

You know, Valentines day is fast approaching! Which means that it is time to get the perfect gift for your girl friend, boy friend, husband or wife! One of the things I think would be the best to get my girl friend would be a Zales diamond. In fact, they are so beautiful you should buy more than one. I found some Zales coupons that will help you frugal and sometimes stingy people save a bit. Sure, those diamonds might seem expensive to you right now…but they will be worth it to your sweet heart on Valentines Day.

Now for those of your women shopping for their husbands/boy friends I doubt that they are going to want that same precious diamond. Well, you can get them a very nice T.V. or Laptop from Circuit City. Here are some Circuit City deals to help you out with the sticker shock. Although, why not just use his credit card? Come on, its going to be for him so I doubt that he will care all that much…well at least hopefully!

Also, CouponChief.com has a ton more stores that have coupons. You can find pretty much any major brand there and get a great discount code. So, just remember to buy your loved ones a great gift for Valentines day, otherwise you might be left with a sour relationship!

I’m still fricking sick…oh and Site5

  • January 18, 2008 3:48 pm

I am still SICK.  Not just having a cold anymore, but full out vomiting.  Tons of fun!  I decided today that I wanted to move hosts, so I am now proudly hosted by Site5.  However, my sites are going to slowly migrate over as this hosting runs through May.  Thank God for Coke to keep my stomach settled.  Well, I don’t have too much more to say, so bye!

I got my 2008 calender…on January 11th!

  • January 17, 2008 1:16 am

Yes, I contend that is was not the best idea to wait for a calender until the last minute. However, W00t happened to be having a sale and I picked up three. So, Smart Post decided that custom printed calendars must arbitrarily take over two weeks, they shipped on Dec. 28th, to go from Texas to Michigan. That’s not the least of my shipping deli meas this holiday season. I ordered a package Dec. 7th for Jorge out in Seattle. It was on Amazon. It qualified for free shipping and I thought Amazon would ship it and I knew it would get there on time. Well, turns out they never shipped it and when I checked it on Dec. 23rd it was never shipped…DUMB! So Amazon shipped it UPS Next Day Air, originally scheduled to arrive Dec. 28th. Good enough, except it was being delivered to an apartment building. So after 20 odd phone calls to Amazon, UPS, UPS Corporate, Tom, Cynthia, Bill, and Jack and Jill went up the hill and finally did a delivery at a time Jorge could sign for the package. I hate IDIOTS.

Colds suck

  • January 17, 2008 12:48 am

I have had this cold for two weeks now. It is getting old, fast. I was having to sit in a recliner just to keep my nose from draining. It’s a pain in the butt. Of course, all the doctors are friggin booked for days. Luckily, I am going to the Doctor Monday for my yearly physical anyways. Joy! I get to be poked and proded and erh uh…(dudes know what I mean, its a female doctor) :D So in the mean time, stay healthy and enjoy my tirade of posting as tends to happen from time to time.

Blogging is SO HARD

  • January 15, 2008 3:54 pm

Seriously, I have been trying to blog for days and keep getting busy.  It’s crazy this time of year though with exams and such.  Hopefully, my life will mellow out soon.  After all, my birthday is not too far off.  I am going to get my drivers license in less than a month, an awesome accomplishment in itself!  WOOH :D

North American Auto Show

  • January 13, 2008 9:13 pm

It’s that time of year again. That’s right the North American Auto Show is back in Detroit. Even though, I live only about an hour away from Cobo Hall I have never gone for the Auto Show. Mostly, because it is nuts. Also, why go to Detroit when you don’t want/need to. It is really dangerous down there, and I would be really hesitant to go during the Auto Show due to the pure chaos.

CPM the best way to advertise

  • January 6, 2008 7:54 pm

I am convinced that if you do not have cpm ads on your site, you are losing out….big time. CPM is click per million. It is really pay per 1000 impressions. You get paid for every 1000 valid impressions your site has. If you have a ton of digg/stumble traffic this is usually your best source of monetization due to the fact that most of the members of these community hate AdSense or are just on your site for a few seconds. Think about it, CPM!

Thank GOD for the pop-up blocker

  • January 6, 2008 7:50 pm

With all the sites I visit with my dealings on Digital Point, between free stumbles and paid dealings that is. I happen to get a lot of pop-ups blocked. Without my popup blocker I would be dead by now. Although, Digital Point is doing very well for me, you wouldn’t believe how much you can make their with a few simple marketing tactics. I will go indepth on this on blogging4everyone in a few days, so check out over there and subscribe if you haven’t already!

Never going to need any financial help

  • January 6, 2008 7:42 pm

I think I am going to be set for life. The skills I have learned from blogging and how to market my skills have helped me so much. Yet, there are stills millions of people who depend on things like cash advance and loans to keep them afloat. What is the problem? Why can we not teach this people some better money management skills. As someone I talked to said, if we gave all the homeless people laptops and a blog, that might solve poverty in the United States. Just think about it.

Wireless internet hates me

  • January 6, 2008 7:33 pm

I have been sitting here on my laptop for the past 20 minutes or so and thankfully my wifi hasn’t dropped the bucket. I have had workman working on the master bathroom here and when they cut the power, throw the breaker or do anything else to the power on the bathroom, it affects the router too. Maybe if I got a used cisco router that wouldn’t be a problem because those things have a power backup within them. However, I have a horrible Netgear router that drops out if it loses power for any amount of time. Oh, well, you learn a little from experience I guess.

Picking a web host

  • January 6, 2008 7:16 pm

One of the things that is most crucial, at least that I have found is picking a good host for your website.  You want a host you can stay with for a good long time that provides a high level of support for you and your website.  This is extremely important if you have a popular website, because if you have a bad host and get slammed by traffic from Digg, a viral video, etc what are you going to have to show for it?  There is some help in picking a good web host.  eHardware Guide has a guide for hosting websites that does a great job at helping you pick the great web host.  All the hosts they feature have cPanel control panel, the ultimate control panel for hosting, I would not use anything but cPanel because I love it so much.  Also, all the hosts they feature have the ubiquitous MySQL support.

You can search eHardware Guide for thousands of cities in the United States.  They feature a ton of cities in each state and they all have great web hosts that provide service in them.  So remember, if you need to find a web host that can support you and your website for a very long time, I would check out eHardware Guide for more information.  Good luck in your hosting plans and don’t forget to email me your success stories about web hosting!

Waldo needs a new bed

  • January 6, 2008 12:01 am

Waldo has been starting to need more and more dog supplies recently. First, I had to go buy him food before New Years. Then he needed a new water bowl because the old one broke. Now, he chewed through his bone that keeps him away from the wood table and other things of value. Out to the pet store again I suppose. Thank goodness he is sleeping. I wonder if Walmart has dog bones, they are open 24 hours…

Speaking of community…

  • January 5, 2008 11:58 pm

The community I live in is largely Catholic. I am a Christian but far from Catholic thank goodness. Right now, the good little boys and girls around the age of second grade are getting ready for their first communion in a few months. I went into the party story the day after Christmas and saw an entire island being stocked with first communion invitations. That is just ridiculous. 4 months in advanced and your sending out an invitation to a party? This isn’t a wedding or a person in a foreign country! It’s just grandma and grandpa in Missouri. More than likely you talk to them over the telephone anyways. I don’t know much, but I know that planning a party for a first communion 4 months beforehand seems a bit much.

ShoutBack giving back to the community

  • January 4, 2008 6:08 pm

I just found out about a new startup, named shoutback that allows you to give back to your community. You can shop, sell and do more to benefit your kids sports team, your church, or your children’s school. The only issue with Shoutback currently, is that they need new groups to work with. That’s right, signup and create a group for your church, school, or other community group.

Complain and ye shall recieve

  • January 4, 2008 5:04 pm

I have been the luck recipient of bad luck.  I have had to deal with UPS and Dell within the past week as far as their executive customer care.  UPS was far worse than Dell, because they just didn’t do what I asked.  For that reason, I am avoiding UPS at all costs.  Dell is much easier and I found out the best thing, they actually have a North American Call Center!  Yes, it is true.  I will be posting more about all these stories at a later date, but just wanted to say that they are finally resolved.

Rudolph the awesome hosting plan

  • January 4, 2008 3:14 am

I have been looking at Commission Junction and their offering for web hosting affiliate programs and what the web hosts have to offer, it just hasn’t been good enough. I finally found a web host who is willing to live up to a high standard. THC has support online nearly 24/7 from what I have seen and their offering is AMAZING. THC, Top Hosting Center offers 250 GB Disk Space, 3000 GB Bandwidth, PHP 4, and unlimited MySql. They also are giving you a FREE DOMAIN FOR LIFE, well as long as they are in business or you have the account that is. I didn’t mention this, woops, the plan is NINTY FIVE DOLLARS FOR LIFE! That’s just one payment of $95 that gets you all that goodness. Some people pay $95 a month to get that much disk space and bandwidth. THC decided they wanted to give it to you in one easy payment.

But alas there are a few catches. First, no transferring. If your friend wants a Rudolph plan tell them to come register. Only 1000 will EVER be sold. Once they reach 1000, no new registrations will be accepted. If THC goes out of business you get to keep the domain, you will just have to pay for the domain fees each year and find a new host. However, they don’t plan on doing that. I think this is a great chance to get some REALLY cheap web hosting. This is FIRE SALE pricing that I am seeing here, if you do not buy yourself one of these plans you are really going to kick yourself in the butt.

DANG IT YOUTUBE

  • January 4, 2008 3:04 am

Why can nothing ever work as it should?  Youtube is messing up the front page of my blog, AGAIN.  I will be posting a few things today so hopefully it will slide off and make good stuff.  Revver is being stupid about my videos and I don’t like that I am not making much from them, so screw them hosting my videos.  I will be going back to Youtube.  Take THAT PEREZ HILTON.  Alright, random enough.

New Years Resolutions

  • January 1, 2008 3:44 am

Yeah, I don’t have any! That’s right. I don’t have a resolution for some Miracle burn for calories or getting enough work done. I’ll just keep trying to improve myself throughout this next year.  I don’t think I am going to do much today,  just hang out, go to bed pretty soon as it is nearly 4 am and I am still up.  God, it sucks being crazy about my sleeping patterns.  Oh well, always next year for some new resolutions!
