Stationary store sells playboy material alongside Winnie the Pooh

  • May 20, 2008 11:22 pm

Reverend Tim Jones

Pictured above:Reverend Tim Jones

A furious vicar took direct action against Playboy stationery products aimed at children  -  by sweeping them off the shelves.  The Reverend Tim Jones accused the soft porn empire of “cynical and wicked commercial exploitation”.  The reverend did score initial success by getting the store to remove the material pending a “merchandise review”.

This is almost funny!  Why would a store be so ignorant.  In Britain of all places, they are VERY angry with us over here.  Oh well, things will go on, but it is sure that Britain might do something very controversial as they say.

Iceland tops list of peaceful countries

  • May 20, 2008 11:16 pm

Iceland

Iceland tops the list of most peaceful countries in the world.  The U.S. does not do so well on the list however.  The U.S. scored 97th out of 140, placing it in the bottom third of the world’s most peaceful countries on the list.  The list was based on 121 economic and other factors that listed all the countries on  how well they preformed to keep the world a peaceful place.

It is unfortunate how the U.S. sucks at keeping the world a peaceful place.  However, if we did not act more on global issues we would not keep the world safe.  How can you blame us when we have to break peace?  Oh well, there is always Luxembourg to help us out.  They must be near the top of this list, personally us editors don’t care too much!

Bars won’t serve 21 year olds alcohol until 8 A.M.

  • May 20, 2008 11:09 pm

Drunk People

Bars in a few states including Minnesota and North Dakota will not serve 21 year old guests alcohol until 8 A.M. on their birthday.  This new rule is designed to discourage kids from drinking some much that they end up dead on their 21st birthday.

This rule is ludicrous!  Kids should be able to enjoy their 21st birthdays, after all it is there only 21st birthday and they should enjoy themselves.  21 year olds in the affected states, take a road trip and go to a much better state!

Wamu

  • May 20, 2008 10:43 pm

Washington Mutual is one big bank and let me tell you that they have been up to some very interesting things.  Like most big banks they have been the brunt of many investigations that have been conducted by the consumerist.  They are one of the better banks out there though, so if you are looking for a new bank in an area that WaMu has branches, consider calling them up and asking for an account.  They have checking accounts, savings accounts and even retirement accounts.

Stupid Theives Arrested in Florida

  • May 19, 2008 9:44 pm

Retail theft, burglary to an occupied conveyance, retaliating against a witness, assault, criminal mischief, battery, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence were the combined charges that are being pressed against 22-year old Leigh Stephen Cann Jr. and his wife, 26-year-old Shannon Kelly Cann.

The Canns were at the Fill Ups on Harbor Boulevard in Destin, Florida, when they stole merchandise from the convenience store. Upon entering the parking log, deputies report that the couple threatened witnesses, then proceeded to chase them all the way to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s station, where Mr. Cann began punching out car windows and threatening people as his wife assaulted witnesses.

Mr. Cann claimed that he had tried to pay for the merchandise, but the clerk would not allow him to.

The merchandise in question? Beef Jerky.

Royal Carribean

  • May 19, 2008 12:51 am

Royal Carribean is one of the best cruise lines out there. They have some of the best ships and crew and are often recommended for first time cruisers. royal caribbean also has had some bad press recently involving what some crew members told some people on a cruise to do about the stench coming from their bathroom. They just told them to close the door and close the ventilation off. The cruisers were none too happy about that!

Travel Guides

  • May 19, 2008 12:49 am

I will be leaving for France a month from yesterday. I am so excitied. I am also rather intriguied to go on this trip as I have never been on a trip in the country, let alone outside of the country that is directed mostly by a guide. I will be very interested to see what we will learn and what will happen outside of the country. Hopefully the travel guides will know much more than I do, and I bet they sure do!

New York is on the rise

  • May 19, 2008 12:47 am

I found out something very interesting the other day. The population of New York is actually rising, it might not be by much, but it is rising ever so slowly. That is really amazing considering how expensive it is to live anywhere in New York. I guess those New York movers are going to be busy very soon with the summer moving rush. Hopefully they can have plenty of business to keep busy.

Did you know

  • May 19, 2008 12:46 am

Did you know that there are now matteresses that actually can form to your body. I was surprised to see one last night when I was watching the 3 AM infomercials, and boy are they nice looking. I love how they have free 90 day in home trials. That would be something really interesting to experience. You can learn more about it on this website for foam mattress. You really might want to get one, they are interesting.

A interesting car

  • May 19, 2008 12:44 am

I saw a very interesting car the other day. I do not remember the exact make or model of this thing but it had some of the most interesting graphics I have seen in a long time and was very memorable for its red painjob. However, the coolest part of the car was its led tail lights. I have always wanted some of those but have never have the right type of car to get them. Maybe soon I will have the correct type of car. ;)

Circuit City

  • May 19, 2008 12:42 am

I found this site that has Circuit City coupons the other day. I was looking for a site similar to this as I got a $100 circuit city gift card for my birthday. It was part of the plan to fix my car which is still broke and I have pretty much just given up on the hope that my radio will ever work this century. I still want to buy a new car and am working as fast as I can towards it!

Parents tracking teens

  • May 19, 2008 12:39 am

Parents are tracking their teenage drivers more and more often today. I was reading an article about it just the other day in Reader’s Digest. Evidently, the vehicle tracking is so that you can keep track of all those dishonest kids. Now, how can you allow a kid who is dishonest with you to keep driving is my question. Just take away the keys to the car and you will solve the problem right then and there. No expensive devices needed!

Popcorn machine

  • May 19, 2008 12:37 am

I used to have one of those popcorn machines quite a long time ago. Sadly, it ended up at the church and boy do I miss it. It had a lot of capacity and you could make like 100 bags of popcorn at one time. What would I do with all that popcorn at once I wonder. Maybe throw it in the back of a truck and dump it along the street, nah that would be way too moronic, or would it?

Waste of medicare funds

  • May 19, 2008 12:35 am

You wouldn’t believe what I heard someone say today. They said that a stair lift to help an injured kid was a waste of medicare funds. I told them, are you insane! This kid has a terminal illness and you are saying that it is a waste of money to get equipment to help him live. You are insane and deserve to have your head cut off at the neck for saying that!

Baby Shower Invitations

  • May 18, 2008 4:27 pm

On my randomness list this week, I found about 5000 baby shower invitations on eBay for the great price of $3.95. Now this raised red flags as why would someone be selling such a large amount of something for such a low price. Also, why does anyone need 5000 baby shower invitations. I mean unless your like Angelina Jolie or something. Haha.

Playstation 3

  • May 18, 2008 4:25 pm

Another purchase I have been looking at recently has been a playstation 3. They are still new on the market but all the good games come out on the new systems. The only problem I have with buying a playstation 3 is that it is REALLY expensive. I just wish that their was a way to get the price down, yes, I may be cheap but I am also smart and know that you can get a good deal on things if you really try!

HDMI Switch

  • May 18, 2008 4:23 pm

I was looking at a HDMI switch for my big screen T.V. online and in a few retail stores this weekend. Let me tell you, these things are EXPENSIVE! They charge quite a bit to get one and once you do it can cost even more to use it. I was astonished at the price, but once I get a few more checks that I am due I think I shall buy myself one. After all, you have to live in luxury if you have the cash! Dang HDMI switch.

Child Life Insurance

  • May 18, 2008 4:22 pm

As I wrote about earlier today, one of my little cousins is having problems with seizures. We learned that his mom bought him child life insurance. I didn’t even know such a thing exsisted until I was told. Most people I know did not get life insurance until they were 18. However, there are plans to protect even your children from death. Imagine that! However, they are also very cheap due to the low rate of death in kids.

Dell Memory

  • May 18, 2008 4:20 pm

Dell memory I am convinced is the best memory in the industry. You can get it very cheap and Dell does the best job at keeping prices low when you buy memory in a new computer as well as buying it separate from a computer. dell memory also tends to last quite a long time and will serve your needs. So next time you need some memory for your computer why not get some Dell memory?

Baby problems

  • May 18, 2008 4:18 pm

One of my little cousins is having a problem. They are having seizures every few hours and it is not doing well for them. Sadly, the outlook is not good. However, it has brought out family together and the baby is getting lots of baby gifts and other fun stuff. Hopefully God will see this baby through and it will live to discuss politics and what is wrong with society with me in many years to come!

Memory

  • May 18, 2008 4:15 pm

My memory does precurse me. I love my memory, haha. I have some pretty good stuff in this laptop and my desktop has 2GB in it as well. Memory is basiclly the best thing you can do to get your computer to run fast. After all, you don’t want a computer that won’t work. Otherwise, you will have to deal with a bunch of problems and that won’t be fun for you at all. Buy some more memory.

Some hospital closing…

  • May 18, 2008 4:13 pm

Guess why? They cannot afford treating all the unisured patients. Also, all the medicare supplement people are not helping them a lot either as it is expensive to treat them. This was a non profit hospital and they are just giving away the building free of charge. Such a shame I don’t live in Chicago anymore or I think I would take advantage of this offer!

Laptop Memory

  • May 18, 2008 4:10 pm

I was wandering around in the store the other day and saw that they had great prices on laptop memory. You can get memory for pretty darn cheap these days. However, this stuff was at like drop down prices. I think I will go back and see if they have any two GB sticks because my laptop could use 4GB. Right now, I am only at 2GB and the more memory you have the better your computer runs!

Expresso Machine for your home or office

  • May 17, 2008 1:25 am

Have you ever considering buying an expresso machine for your home or office? I have good and bad news. espresso machines are VERY expensive still, however, they have come down considerabley in their price since they became popular a few years ago. Just go on over to your favorite kitchen supply store and you will easily be able to find an expresso machine that will fit into your plan for your government refund check!

Vinyl Shutters

  • May 17, 2008 1:23 am

Many people have experienced ongoing hardship with our decling national economy. Why not spruce up your house so that in case you want to sell it you have that extra advantage over all the other houses you are considering. vinyl shutters are one of the best and most attractive ways to spruce up a house. Plus they come in many different colors to match nearly any decor a home owner might have at their current house.

Fountain pens

  • May 17, 2008 1:19 am

Papermate pens are high quality pens that allow you to be on the top of your game. Have you ever been ready to sign an important document and not had a pen at hand. I hate when that happens, however, with Papermate pens you will always have them close at hand and ready to go whenever and wherever the need might strike you for a pen to use.

A Brighton, MI company…

  • May 17, 2008 12:12 am

was raided by federal authorities on a report from the FDA in the past few months. The rumor was that their pills, which are legal, had not been legally approved and were being distributed via facebook and MySpace. So the FBI and U.S. Marshalls took the pills into custody. However, top diet pills are still availible in stores. These pills were not top diet pills and were not even officially for sale yet.

Brangelina’s Kids: A Bit Confused

  • May 16, 2008 9:25 pm

Ah, the things kids come up with. Angelina Jolie has reported that her 3-year-old daughter, Zahara, believes that she is pregnant…with a baby pig. To make matters more ridiculous, their son, Pax, seems to think that he is also with child…er…monkey.

Apparently, Zahara wants to be like her mommy (as does their son), who is expecting twins with her hubby, Brad Pitt.

Time to start re-thinking using Animal Planet as quality children’s educational viewing.
