FIND.Com Simple, Quick, Painless!

  • February 19, 2009 9:26 pm

Find

Find.com is one of the most amazing domain name’s I have ever seen! It sounds like it would cost a TON, with it being a four letter LLLL.com. Anyways, it is an ingenious idea, you can go to find.com and enter in your keyword, much like you would do with any sort of search engine, or you can go to http://find.com/yourkeywordhere ! Find.com was just recently launched, so it will be extremely interesting to see how they will do when they are up to the size of one of the major internet search engines. The think that really impresses me about the Find.com Search Engine is that it is simple, quick, and painless. With some of Find’s competitors you have dozen’s of different boxes/links crowding the page, ruining your experience!

However, with Find you really don’t have to sort through thousands of different links to get to the search functionality. It is sitting there, right in front of you! Once you search, you have very few ads to deal with, a welcome sign after some other search engines plaster you with them. The colors are appealing to the eye, and they really bring out what people look for on a website. Find.com is going to become my homepage, as I really think that it will help me work that much!

Picking a web host

  • January 6, 2008 7:16 pm

One of the things that is most crucial, at least that I have found is picking a good host for your website.  You want a host you can stay with for a good long time that provides a high level of support for you and your website.  This is extremely important if you have a popular website, because if you have a bad host and get slammed by traffic from Digg, a viral video, etc what are you going to have to show for it?  There is some help in picking a good web host.  eHardware Guide has a guide for hosting websites that does a great job at helping you pick the great web host.  All the hosts they feature have cPanel control panel, the ultimate control panel for hosting, I would not use anything but cPanel because I love it so much.  Also, all the hosts they feature have the ubiquitous MySQL support.

You can search eHardware Guide for thousands of cities in the United States.  They feature a ton of cities in each state and they all have great web hosts that provide service in them.  So remember, if you need to find a web host that can support you and your website for a very long time, I would check out eHardware Guide for more information.  Good luck in your hosting plans and don’t forget to email me your success stories about web hosting!

Posting ORDEAL!

  • October 28, 2007 1:53 am

I am so beyond annoyed with Hosting Department right now. So I get on about 5 P.M. EST, 10 P.M. GMT and try to access this site, it doesn’t work. I proceed to flush dns, etc, and finally call GoDaddy, they say everything is fine on their end, now I call Comcast, nothing they can do, they say call DELL! Dell, I didn’t even get through to. You know, I am resorting to posting with a proxy, which I can’t check my cPanel logs with, which might help me figure out what is going on! EDIT: Thanks to beat filtering I am now able to access the cPanel and Blog, thanks to them. Booh to everyone else for not solving the problem.

I just am fed up, more stories coming when I wake up.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I have been looking around for my dream laptop, for as you know, this blog is raking in some serious dough. Well…more on that later anyways. I have found some good deals on IBM memory if I buy something cheap off of eBay and do a build up. However, I think I am going to customize a system with Dell or HP, even though it will cost more they do have professionalism and warranties. What are you suggestions as to what I should do? I am thinking about buying in mid to late January…

Stuff I want

  • July 15, 2007 10:09 pm

I just have been blogging and looking at eBay all day.  I want so many of these nifty gadgets.  For example, how about some USB missiles to become the king of your office, or if you just want your clients to leave!  How about a humping dog that will creep your clients out.  I sure wouldn’t want that on my desk.   Those are only a few of my best finds.  eBay can be a great place to be these days.  It’s a buyers market, since selling sucks on eBay due to the over flood of items.

Updates

  • July 10, 2007 8:04 pm

We haven’t talked in a while so I figured, hey why the heck not. I am currently working on planning more contest ideas but I do have one going Friday over at my review blog.

I also have been toying around with the idea of an offline blog editor. Because of my recent upgrade to FireFox 3(Gran Parasido Alpha 6), I am unable to use the inline FireFox editor. However, I found Bytescout which is a very nifty little gadget. It has a spellchecker and can post your posts at different timestamps. Very cool.

Take care and stick around for more stories after this post.

Looking back and linking out

  • July 9, 2007 12:14 am

I just felt like looking back at the posts of old, way back in the archives. Let’s see what I find 1 year ago.

JibJab is an awesome animation site
Less expensive to move into Michigan than any other State

Just a few random posts. I only had 5 posts last July, it is really amazing!

Also, I just wanted to highlight some random blog posts I found.

Sir Jorge has been a good friend of mine for a few months now and he has linked back to me so many times I cannot count. He has literally ran to the end of the blogosphere. I hope he can find the other end just as quickly. He also has a bunch of eBay wrestling related auctions.

Breezie over at FF blog is increasing her presence in the blogosphere as well. She has started a couple new blog, one over at a social network like site that I cannot remember. Of course, I signed up there but cannot find the email either. I also am hosting a blog for her over at Krispy Blogs called Just Breezie, a blog mostly about MEMEs.

I think 2 people is good enough for this week. I’ll bring up some of my other favorites in the RSS reader next week. Just comment and I’ll probably subscribe hurry back ya’ll!

Pedo Idea

  • June 28, 2007 5:15 pm

This really is bizzare and offbeat but I try and reserve those for stories. I am going to make up a profile on MySpace and see how many Pedo’s we can bust. I will post all the chat logs on a seperate blog. For saftey reasons, the MySpace profile is not going to be revealed at this time. Let’s see how many perverts we can catch!

Currently changing name servers

  • June 21, 2007 3:58 pm

See everyone on the flip side. :)

I wanted to change nameservers but the host has not completed the move. They are AT LEAST 4 hours behind schedule. This will mean more stories…yeah!

On another note, due to negative press recently I have decided to decrease paid posts. I will have a lot of blogs coming online as of late July that will be sharing paid postings. However, I hope to keep them to a minimum.

“Explosive” Wikipedia Category

  • June 4, 2007 4:31 pm

There is a new category on Wikipedia, as it appeared in my Digg Offbeat index. If Exploding Animals is your taste go on over and check out this Wikipedia category. There are exploding chickens, exploding toads, and more. I am sure this will be attacked by animal rights people. However, Wikipedia will not remove it as it is unique to the site, just like many of the other oddities.

Blogging Secret

  • April 25, 2007 3:26 pm

Just stopped by this blog that helps you make money onlineBlogging secret has some very valuable tips from a “full time Malyasian blogger” His current top post is something I wish that the U.S.  had too, free tickets to Pirates of the Caribbean 3!  Just imagine, free tickets to one of the biggest movie’s of all time. And only for Malaysia, :( .   Louise also talks about how he has to deal with the sponsored review companies that provide the blogosphere with most of the blogging topics.

Personally, I am amazed that a blog spot blog has made it so far up the Technorati charts. Louise is above 10,000 and climbing. It really proves to you that you do not need your own domain to make the best blog, at least it proves it to me.  Sadly, I really disagree with the Google ads, I wouldn’t mind them if they were so intrusive but they are not evenly lined up making for a heck of a hard layout.  Also the sidebar is EXTREMELY overstuffed with information. Par it down and it will look much better Louise, trust me dude.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to check out your blog Louise.

Shawn-Knight.net

  • April 21, 2007 11:48 pm

I came across Shawn Knight’s site using Google Blog search actually. I looked up free link backs and his was one of the first few results I saw.  Shawn writes about some tech stories, blog contests and other topics but what really got me interested in his site was his Daily Ownage where he picks out a picture of people getting pawned by other people.  So far I have found them awesome.  Shawn also has a daily picture, the latest one is about a sign that says a fire alarm sounds like, “whoop whoop”. HAHA!

Shawn also has a great layout for his site.  The background is mellow with it being readable, unlike if it were pale black.  The sidebar is well organized and easy to use.  Also, there is the top commentors, something I love to see. One thing he has that I really do not like is the whole MyBlogLog community.  I really despise that and think it rips apart blog communities and does not join them.  It is also tremendously overused.  Overall, nice site Shawn. Wish you good luck in the future and thanks for giving us some great stuff.

Dell brings back XP

  • April 20, 2007 3:45 pm

Haha, they really got told off by their community.

Dell Computers has brought back Windows XP, the second oldest operating system to some of its consumer PC line. The move was spurred after many users got agitated with dealing with the new Windows Vista process. The whole options are very difficult to understand and users want more simplicity.

Yeah dell!

Alaska to Russia Link

  • April 18, 2007 3:19 pm

According to the Russian government and Bloomberg.com, Alaska and Russia will be linked by a transportation project including a 64 mile long tunnel in 10 to 15 years.  The transit link is said to include great potential benefit for trade between the two countries and beyond.  Everyone is very interested but I think this sounds like the imaginary link between New York and London.  It will never gain enough steam or get enough investors to reach building stage. While this may sound ludicrous smart, it is also ambitious, possibly too ambitious. This is a wait and see project.

Search Engine Demographics

  • April 18, 2007 2:15 pm

Men are from Google, Women are from Yahoo.  According to a digital point forums discussion men are much more likely to go onto the internet several times a day. They are labeled intense users, while women tend to be more wimpy towards their internet usage and don’t really care.  Now, Yahoo, why not be like America Airlines who came out with a “Women Search” and also purported to be releasing a bizzare “African American” search.  Good luck for search engine demographics in the future. Men will always be more geeky. Geek on!

Meebo wastes RAM?

  • April 11, 2007 1:41 pm

Well that is what one person proposes.  If you have a conversation on meebo with someone with AIM you will use 39MB more ram than Firefox usually uses.  This is pretty interesting and have not been able to verify this with Kathy at meebo but she is currently researching for me.  Will be interesting to see as I have 2GB of RAM this really isn’t an issue for me but is for people with older computers.

Now, being a politically inactive person I believe that aren’t all of these things GOOD to CRUSADE against? Swiss dig world’s longest tunnel

  • March 21, 2007 2:20 pm

Does it have a great echo?  The swiss transportation community has long since relished at the thought of having a transportation route that would speed up the time to cross the difficult terrain.  They have now built the world’s longest tunnel to solve this problem.  This is not a passenger tunnel however, but rather a freight train tunnel.  The Swiss think their growing trade business is best handled by trains. Now see the only bad part is this isn’t even going to be finished until 2018.  They have had quite an increase but there are going to be more problems before there are any solutions. Let’s just hope the Swiss can get it done.

Radioblogclub Moving

  • March 15, 2007 3:19 pm

I enjoy radio blog club or RBC but so do a lot of other people it seems.  They are having so much stress put onto their servers that they are moving their servers.  For those of you who do not read techcrunch or the numerous number of other blogs that covered this story, here is an explantion of RBC’s content.  RBC has a widget you can embed into any site that will allow you to play music uploaded to third party hosting by the community.  They have everything from Beyoance to Bach.  I was consdering putting a widget in on my blog but I do not like blogs that have widget’s that play music installed.  I also recently signed up for mybloglog.com and tried that out for a few days but was not impressed.  I believe that blogs can have their own communities built around them and do not need all the widgets in the world to accomplish that.

Stephen Grent: A synopsis

  • March 4, 2007 5:40 pm

Background: Stephen Grant murdered his wife Tara and then lied to authorities for 3 weeks while they furiously tried to locate her. He talked to the media frequently. Stephen became a suspect on this past Friday, March 2nd, when police searched his house and found his wife’s torso. A search of the offbeat area of the Stony Creek Metro park, found more body parts under snow.

This man lives just a 45 minute drive away from me. Macomb county sherrif Mark Hackel has been having some week. He had an escaped teenage prisoner from one of his detention center’s earlier this week, and the ongoing Stephen Grant saga. I think Stephen is a sicko for doing this to his wife. He murdered his wife, let police believe she was missing, commit numerous felonies in the process. Dude, come on get a life and turn yourself in. It is a good thing Michigan does not have the death penalty, because if we did, the Macomb county prosecutor would be going for it.

Germans do not like home schooling…who knew!

  • March 2, 2007 5:32 pm

German officials imprison parent’s that choose to home school their kids.  Evidently, it has to do with a law that was passed back during the time that Hitler was in power.  Hitler wanted all good little German boys and girls to go to school so they may become his toys.  Today, the law still exists and it is being enforced to the point of jail.  Melissa Busekros, was taken and imprisoned in a mental ward for being home schooled.  WHY! You could say her parents were committing HIGH TREASON.  According to the U.N., you are not allowed to home school your children.  Come on people, this isn’t rock science here, some kids learn better being home schooled, however, many benefit from public school.  However, it looks like Germany is just in an overall decline.  They have denied Paderborn Baptists, from starting a private school because of religious reasons.  All poltical parties of Germany, quite sad. Come on U.N., get rid of that archaic law you made concerning home schooling, bring the power back to the real people, the parents.

OpenID- For the future

  • February 20, 2007 5:04 pm

I just came across Lifehacker and Techcrunch articles today mentioning OpenID.  This service will open up the wb in ways we will benefit from for years to come. While I may get a little bizzare and offbeat stay with me through my rant.  OpenID will finally let you become free from having to remember difficult passwords and annoying usernames. You will have ONE universal ID and password.  Some great companies are already signed on to the project.  The blogging search engine giant, Technorati is currently using the technology. AOL, Wikipedia, and other’s have shown intrest.  The only big player missing is Google to add its acount technology but I doubt that will happen due to Google’s stubborness in the past to universal id projects.  Why not register today? You get lot’s of cool features from OpenID so give it a try, let’s get the web 3.0 started NOW!
