I have been reading more and more lately about how the direct marketing industry is coming back. One of those companies in that come back is Martin Worldwide. The best news is that they have just updated their mailing list with a bunch of new data. Now advertisers can search for leads based on Consumer surveys. Just think of all the mass mailing fun you can get with the entire Martin Worldwide database. They have 290 million consumers in their database and over 14 million United States businesses. So don’t just sit on your hands waiting for people to find out that you have a business, be proactive and get some leads from Martin Worldwide.
I want to go back to Tennessee
I had the chance to drive through Tennessee a few years ago, and boy is it ever beautiful. The best part about it is the wonderful rocks that they cut the highway straight through. I was actually on my way to Ashville, en route to some other location. I would prefer to own nc mountain real estate to Tennessee real estate. All the tennessee cabins don’t seem to offer the amazing views North Carolina does, even if North Carolina does have quite a bit higher prices than Tennessee might, oh well another dream life, and maybe another true vacation, I have to check what rental looks like around N.C. and T.N.
Halloween costumes
I found some great halloween costumes on Halloween express. The best of which is this World’s Largest Condom costume. It was very funny as I was talking to several people today about dressing up for Halloween and someone said that you cannot dress up in a condom. I then ribbed them quite a bit about it, but I never though I would see the costume again! The prices are not half bad for the size and quality of products you get. The lead time on Halloween express shipping is 1-2 days and their shipping takes about another 3-5 days to get to you, so make sure you order early in order to get your order on time for Halloween. Oh, and what are you guys going to be for Halloween this year, I’d love to know! World’s Largest Condom…halirious!
BP Solar Decathlon
For everyone who did not know, the BP Solar Decathlon is coming up starting tomorrow! BP a.k.a. British Petroleum is invested in trying to find alternative energies that will help us solve our energy problems of tomorrow today. The United States Department of Energy is also in on the Solar Decathlon. Now you might be wondering what the Solar Decathlon is, so I will tell you! The Solar Decathlon is held every other year and challenges teams from 20 different universities around the globe to build and operate livable, energy-efficient, and completely solar-powered houses. BP is sponsoring the event, as I said before, as part of their commitment to find cleaner more healthy energy sources.
They are one of the main corporate sponsors, and the only energy company sponsor, of the 2007 Solar Decathlon and have been involved since the first competition in 2002. As part of their further commitment I found a few things BP will be doing to help build alternative energy, BP produces more than 200 MW of solar technology every year. Did you know that an area 200 miles square covered with solar panels could provide all the electricity the world needs? Also, BP’s jointly-owned Nerefco wind farm generates enough zero-carbon energy to power 13,000 average homes. Wind can potentially provide around a 10th of the world’s power. That would cut down dioxide emissions by a billion tons a year. Just think, this would make the world such a better place! Oh, and don’t forget that you could be making thousands of new jobs with all of this new energy coming from BP!
PDO store
If you have invested in an iPod, iPhone or anything technical that is expensive you know you want to protect it from all the bad things that could happen to it. I have had my mp3 player run over, sink in a toilet, go through the laundry machine and boy is that ever fun! Luckily, I purchased the warranty package from the manufacturer, but still they did suggest that I go out and buy some ipod accessories, like a case to keep it safe. After all if you are going to spend all that money of an iPod, you really should try to keep it as nice and polished as possible. I cannot wait until I get my iPod touch, I will have to buy so many accessories for it though.
But…I did find something else
I found something else that I forgot to tell you all about. I found a tote filled with all of my beanie babies and other stuffed animals from when I was a kid. I actually just looked up into the attic and saw them, can you believe that! I was amazed that I was able to find them, I wonder if they are worth anything on eBay. Probably not, but hey they do bring back quite a bit of good memories, especially when I was like seven.
I found my baby sling
When I was cleaning up that mess from the luggage yesterday, I found my baby sling. I cannot believe that I found my baby sling, but I called my mom and she said it was my baby sling. This really makes me wonder what else is in this house. But who knows, it is so large that there could be millions of small things that I don’t know about in this house.
My neighbor in Chicago
As long as we were getting on the subject of neighbors, my neighbor in Chicago had something rather tragic happen to her. When she went into her doctor for a routine checkup they discovered she had maliganant mesothelioma. She had a horrible cough, and that was the only outwardly sign she was sick. Luckily, they caught it otherwise she might have died from it without knowing a thing. Then again, she had breast cancer a few years after the mesothelioma. So she isn’t the luckiest lady in the world.
Van Halen Tickets
I went over to my neighbors house today. She is a huge classic rock fan. She has pretty much everything from Van Halen. She even has this beautiful pair of Van Halen tickets. They are from a concert quite a few years ago. She has many other collectibles as well. She is considering selling off quite a few of them on eBay, which I will announce if she decides to so keep reading.
Jobs
To be brutally honest, and joking at the same time, blogging is a much better job than any other I can think of. Sure, you don’t make millions, and you cannot buy EVERYTHING you want, but you can get buy nicely. People who work HR in the “real world” have to deal with succession planning. They have to figure out how to fill your job slot once you leave the company. Blogging, you decide you want to quit, no one fills your slot per say, many bloggers cover the same topic so your unique voice just fades into the distance.
Next furniture purchase!
I have found the next item on my wish list, maybe I should make this wish list Sunday or something. I have found some discount home theater seating. Trust me, these things will keep me feeling great when I get my new laptop in…well the laptop is another story entirely. But I can use it to sit and watch T.V., or sleep in. Just think of the possibilities, oh and send me an email for my shipping address. *wink*
Outdoor burning
Well, I was a lazy person today since I didn’t go to bed until well…2 A.M. last night! I had to mow the lawn, because did it ever need it. Instead of running over the huge sticks, which could kill me, I decided to put them into my fire pit. My fire pit really needs replacing and I am looking at get a fire table, which is smaller but is more sophisticated. I will just build a fire pit to burn all the yard waste in seperatley.
Strange box just appeared…
Well the box is not really strange..it is that UPS delivered it on a Sunday. Maybe we just were not looking for it very hard, however, it is the faucets we ordered for one of our bathrooms. The faucets we choose were supposed to be shipped to us via second day air directly from Delta faucet. Don’t get me wrong, the price was GREAT! However, I am so mad at myself that I did not see the box until today. Oh well, now we cannot blame the company for messing up as it was our fault! I was going to try to find the link to the faucets we bought, but the site doesn’t want to seem to find them…oh well!
Cheapoair
One Click or Call Does It All! At least that is what their motto says. I got motivated to talk about this after I was trying to figure out my vacation plans for 2009 last night and saw Breezie over at ForumFinder dot Net posted an article about them. One click is not exactly right but their site does seem EXTREMELY simple to use. I decided to check whether they were really the lowest fare carrier. I choose to book a flight leaving DTW(Detroit) on December 21st 2007 and returning January 2nd 2007. I ran the search on two other competitors of cheapoair. I also used a program that forecasts airfares and at 343.48 Cheapoair was well ahead of the curve. Never mind that this flight is on American Airlines, but I could live with it.
Cheapoair also does more than flights. They provide cruises, hotels and rental cars. I did check for cruises in 2009, but most cruise companies only have 2007 cruise dates availible, with Disney releasing their dates for the first six months of 2008, and I rather not go on a Disney cruise. Back to the “Phoenix” trip I am “planning”, they have built a new rental car facility where all the rental car companies are housed, which is really nice and convenient. I searched cheapoair for a rental car and found one for USD $483.14, however, the Fox Rental Car company site had it for a little bit less, but you know I would be willing to pay the $15 difference to have everything booked through Cheapoair. Next time you consider flying/renting a car or curising check out Cheapoair!
Vacation 2009!
Yes, it has now come time to look into my options for vacation 2009! I am considering the following options
1)England
2) caribbean cruises
3)Spain
4)Barbados
I would love your reader input on which place is the best value and which you would like me to see most. And sadly I would love to take one of you along, but unless you can figure out how to get past TSA and onto the airplane we will have a small problem. I had the theory of loading you in my bag, but sometimes those compartments are air tight and you would be dead so quick, I want my companions to be alive! Well, tell me what you all think.
Medical Supplies
I have been going to various drug stores around town, because I am addicted to buying a Pepsi whenever I get the chance. One thing I have noticed that getting medical supplies around here is a breeze because of all the drug stores there are. I mean Walgreens, CVS, Rite-aid, and then you have the regular grocery stores which there are FIVE! It just is amazing all the retail that you can find in towns now days!
Orlando
I almost was going to edit my last post, but forget it. I could just buy up some Orlando vacations homes. That way I can make a killing in the summer when everyone goes to Disney, I will still have to research this market though to make sure it is not overly competitive, and that I could actually make money off of doing this. Who knows, but I might be able to give away time at a property in Orlando!
Miami Realestate
Well, with real estate being as great as the sales of cow manure around here I am considering moving to Florida. Sure Florida is crowded, in some places and rather expensive but they have a huge tourist market. I was told today at that conference I went to that the Miami real estate market is very hot. We shall have to see if I am able to afford investing into it at all.
VEGAS BABY!
As long as I am on my interlude about wanting to go to London, I really would love going to Las Vegas from the Blog World Expo next month. If I did go to Vegas for the Blog World Expo I would probably stay at the Caesars Palace casino. I have always liked how the pools there looked, it does seem to be one of the more downscale properties as far as luxury, but I can live with that. I would use their monorail for sure though, they had some great thinking when they put that system in you know for sure!
Home confrence
Well in my continuing debacle over why I will not be here tomorrow is that I have to go listen to a realtor speak. She is going to be talking about what you an do to improve the likelihood of your home selling in the very stagnant home market of Michigan. I have to say that I am actually looking forward to it and I hope she will make some pretty valid points. These events can either be snore fests or very interesting, lets just hope its the later!
London Attractions
In my continuing conquest of the Greater British Isles, I heard that you can get a great card to get you into almost all London Tourist Attractions. The London Pass is a plastic card that will get you into 56 different tourist attractions in and around London. Visitors just pay for the card, which comes in 1, 2, 3 or 6 day durations and they can use the card as little or as much as they wish. You can get into the Towers of London and Kensington Place for a few of the many places.
The best part of the London Pass, is that you can get queue jumping privileges at the busiest London attractions. With London being such a highly populated area, plus the swarms of tourists you know this would be more than handy. You can also add on inclusive travel which would give you access to all of London’s mass transit, the tube, buses, and their train networks. So next time you go to London, consider the London pass to save you some valuable time and money!
Bed and Breakfast in MI
I recently went up and stayed at a bed and breakfast in Northern Michigan. It was a wonderful retreat as the rooms did not have real telephones, they only ones they had were cell phones. However, I heard that English and Scottish borders bed and breakfast are pretty exquesitite. I have not yet had the chance to visit England, but if I was ever able to go I would love to. I will be going to France, but I am sure I will not be able to bop into England at all, those plans are already too set in stone. Oh well! There is always the next international trip I go on for a chance to go to England.
Going Slow
I am really embracing the Go Slow attitude. Mad Gringo also embraces the Go Slow attitude, they will work with you if they do not have a particular kind of hawaiian shirts in stock. Mad Gringo is laid back, but not lazy in the least. Why not hop on over to their site and see if you can pick up a neat t-shirt for yourself. Or Go Slow and bookmark them to see give them a look later on.

Dog breeding information…pretty cool
I was looking for things about my Golden retriever, Waldo, and this opportunity came along to talk about dog breeds. Maybe I should start off saying that I knew a fair amount about golden retrievers, but this site goes to another level. They have nifty rankings of everything from ability to withstand heat and cold to the level of guarding a breed of dog can do.
This seems like a very important resource for anyone adopting a puppy from a puppy shelter, although most of the information applies to any older dog as well. They also include some fast facts about the breed such as the country of origin, life expectancy and much more. I’d encourage you to use this cool resource if you are looking into getting a dog, as it it well worth it.
Blinds are more than blinds
Let me tell you, when we got new windows this past year blinds are extremely expensive! I also am not a very mechanical person. However, we got a installer to install Just Blinds It took him only two hours to do something that may have very well taken us 6-8 hours otherwise. It also would not have been nearly as easy to complete as we did not have the expertise he had. The only thing we had to do was crush down the boxes! Just Blinds offers blinds and shutters at an affordable price. However, they don’t have functional shutters like those used in France which upsets me but I digress. So if you need some windows blinds, check out Just Blinds!
Laptop accessories
I am now searching through a couple sites for a wireless router. I do not own one currently and with me doing all this blogging and such I will be needing a laptop soon. I am thinking about getting a Linksys but not entirely sure. Also, I am still looking for the most bang for my buck in the laptop market, does anyone have any suggestions on products that might suit a heavy internet user such as me? I’d love to hear about them, comment below!
PPC Industry
With the internet marketing industry heating up just in time for the holidays, anybody using PPC should know a few things. First off, PPC Tools can help you with figuring out the sometimes hard to understand PPC industry. I like the tools as they provide quite a few things that are actually useful, unlike a variety of other webmaster sites. Any webmaster who wants more traffic, which is EVERYONE knows that SEO is vital. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, you can read more about SEO at SEO tools.
I have been trying to optimize my search engine performace on here recently. Upgrading to WordPress 2.3 allows native tagging support so I can use the most relevant tags for my post, and not have to change the meta tags every time. Still, having relevant meta tags is very important. Just take my top keyword Kyla Ebbert, she gave me so much traffic that I don’t know what to shake a stick at. If you need a few search engine marketing hints check out Seo Tools.
L.A. lawyers blog
When you see all these celebrities and their free skate in the legal system, it makes me boil over. I cannot see how it is even legal to be so leniant on them. However, Los Angeles Criminal Attorney Blog | California Criminal Defense Lawyers Forum explains major cases of celebrities. The blog author, Dmitry Gorin, is a professor at UCLA and is also a commentator on court T.V. He has some pretty good arguments, however, his header is extremely ugly and much too cramped so I hope he changes that up.
